It is possible that the trunk of the Crown Pine contains two or more separate piths, just like the wind-felled tree (Pinus sylvestris) on the picture. This tree did split up into two stems at about the same height as the Crown Pine does.

Det är möjligt att jättetallens stam innehåller fler än en märgkärna. På den vindfällda stammen ovan syns två kärnor i stubbhöjd. Trädet delade sig i två stammar på ungefär samma höjd som där Krontallen delar sig.
